Scroll down to see some unique natural GIFs, in an Instagram & TikTok world, motion definitely has its place in the world, on our personal microblogs, so we can savor all those cute moments.
Tip 1: Outfits
Firstly, we want to make sure you are comfortable. Find items that you feel resonate with not only with lifestyle and personalty, but also that you can be yourself in.
For our session in the park, we chose neutral tones, and soft cotton fabrics that reflected the landscape. Its always ideal to match your surroundings.
Tip 2: Be yourself!
Lets have fun with it, on our pre-photoshoot phone call and/or zoom call I would love to hear about your favorite things (music, movies, movie quotes, etc).
To get Luis to relax and feel carefree, his favorite movie and soundtrack is Guardian’s of the Galaxy, so we played some music and had a mini dance party together. Look at these cool dance moves
Tip 3: Play Together!
When did it become a rule to stop playing together at a certain age? When we are laughing and smiling we are our most attractive selves. What did you enjoy as kids? What inspired you? You may not be inspired by the same things anymore, but close your eyes, think of that feeling, and let it flow.
Tip 4: What makes you and your partner unique?
Every couple has their favorite rituals that make their relationship unique. As we were communicating during our engagement session, Luis mentioned one example that they exchange three kisses before they say goodbye to each other everyday. Never just one, always three.
This is a great way for you to not be in your head. Take a deep breathe, and remind yourself, I’m with my bestie right now, and then go for it, and whatever happens, happens, and I will be there to capture it.
Tip 5: Play on your partner’s love language
If you haven’t heard of the 5 Love Languages, I suggest you read the article here to find out which one you are. This is so helpful in connecting with your partner during your engagement session. Words of affirmation, physical touch, quality time, gift giving, and acts of service.
How does your partner most feel appreciated? Is their love language physical touch, ok cool, good to know ill make sure you maintain contact the whole time, small touches on their arm, big hugs, etc. Then what’s yours? The more you and your partner feel appreciated during your photo session, the calmer you will become, forget that I am there, and ta da! Natural engagement photos.
